How many of us don’t really love a good cup of coffee? The rich taste, the warmth as we drink it. How easy it is to alter with something as simple as cream and sugar?

We can cradle the cup in our hands, gently blowing on it, smelling the aroma of the coffee, feeling the steam on our face. A smile many times comes to our lips as we sit there in such a state.

How close to our day to day life is the anything but simple cup of coffee? Just as the many flavors of beans are to be found, so is the variety yet similarity of the life of a vast variety of mankind. Some are very full bodied, rich beyond belief. They call it ‘robust’ and how so like it is with many. The total richness in the life of such people draws us to their aroma, wanting to share in it, possibly even add something to their mixture of beans that is their life.

All of us want to be that wonderful cup that others are drawn to and want to taste, that is enjoyed. We live for such moments and treasure them as we do that warm cup in our hands ever so carefully.

All of us want to be like that strong cup of black coffee that nothing is needed to be added to and stands on its own and totally enjoyed for what it is.

Some will feel the need to dunk something in their coffee. For some, that is a wonderful experience. Something that they look forward to as the dawn comes into the window. How many of us as so much better when something out of the normal ‘bean’ is added to our brew> The feeling that we have added and given add to the enjoyment of another?

Some like iced coffee. When it is hot outside but you don’t want to give up the wonderful blends just as found in life, many will make this choice. How many of us love to give not only a gentle boost as the coffee does when they drink such, but also the cool refreshingness found in such a drink?

There is also the downside, the leftover coffee. The coffee that has sat in the pot so long that it’s freshness and flavor is no longer as it should be? How many of us are like that cup of coffee, cold, flavor turned for the worst, many times left on the heat so long that it is burned and no longer good at all to drink? Just like that coffee, many of us have been in the heat of life way too long with no relief ignored to the point that all is lost and all that is left is to start over again with a totally fresh start, a fresh ’pot’.

Learning from those little experiences in life that we see day to day opens our eyes, fills our senses , energizes our very being so that we learn and grow, to have the full aroma in our life, to share it with others, to see and be all that we are to be, meeting not just our own needs in life, but those around us as well.

For me, I want to be that full flavored robust cup of coffee that stands on its own. The one that others will come and sit down with and share their own cup of life with. For me, I want to be a cup of coffee, the best one that I can be.
